Bob Arum Issues Statement on Antonio Margarito Ban

This is one of the times when you can really see the lawyer in Bob Arum. I do see his point though, I would be upset if a guy I was representing was convicted without decent evidence (of him knowingly cheating with the wraps), you can assume he knew about the wraps, but in a legal preceeding to me assumption is no where near good enough to take away another mans livelyhood.

Although Arum is always out for himself, aslong as you are on the same side as him (and are still of use to him) he will look out for you pretty well.

so there's is no evidence??
so if the cops pull you over and you have a gun or drugs in you car, you could tell the cop it is not your but you think they are going to belive you?? someone else could of put it there but is still you car. in this case the wraps were in his hands. what more evidence does someone need to charge him?/

that margarito knew what was going on? well,i have my doubt too,but,but we really don't know,i mean even roach and stewart said sometimes a fighter doesn't know when their wraps are being put..so we really have no idea,we can say all we want that he knew,but bottom line is we don't know,i have no problem with the year suspension,but as far as him knowing,we won't know unless he says it himself,and i doubt that.

People can have their doubts about margarito not knowing but saying it 100% they are right is plain ****** and dumb. All post i have read here are margarito haters. People that talk here don't know **** about boxing or even trainers doing their handwraps. Steward, roach said sometimes boxers don't even know whats going on with their wraps and let me see umm theyve seen thousands or wraps. California commisioners also said there was no evidence that margarito knew what was going on.

For ****ing sake even ****m said the one that looked so nervous was capetillo as to probably mean margarito didn't knew what the **** was going on. Remember margarito haters that margarito trusted this guy like his father he even asked capetillo whats wrong with the pads and capetillo kept telling him don't worry about it everything is allright. I may have doubts as to margarito knowing there wasn't any illegal pads but not 100% say he is completely guilty.

I'm sick and tired of this ****. If it was up to me Margarito would never box again anywhere. He's made his money and was found to be a cheating disgrace. The likelyhood of him not knowing anything about these pads is next to nothing, he blatantly knew they were there. He should take his money and run, him and his trainer knew the rules and the damage they were doing and could do.

How the **** can you not know you've got plaster pads in your gloves? I mean you could feel them easily! He beat Cotto badly and was always very heavy handed with hardly any technique.

even if he margarito didnt know what was goin on , i still think he should get punished . cuz playin ****** shouldn't get u off the hook . and everything he has accomplished or was about to accomlpish, if indeed he loaded his gloves before would be illegal as well. the one year ban is lenient and the trainer should've gotten way more or even banishment.

He did tested positive for Steroids and admitted to supposedly unknowingly taking steroids what does that remind me of??? clemens, Arod, Palmero Marion Jones etc, etc, please this is another boxer who did it once and before until he finally tested positive against dlh. Like i said why doesn't he get punished or have that L removed and that belt under his record removed too.
