Barrera was a seriously good body puncher, so I don't buy it when people say Hatton will destroy Pac with body shots like a lot of people are claiming.

I agree that "destroy" is ridiculous, but hurt is possible IMO - Barrera didn't have Ricky's power - maybe he did in P4P terms but not in actual terms.

in my opinion, Mayweather Sr. being in Hatton's corner won't make a great deal of difference because Ricky is too far into his career to change completely. He may be slightly improved, but how long will the "new" Ricky Hatton be able to keep focus when he's taking lightning-fast punches from Pacquiao?

Not really a new Ricky Hatton. Tactically the Floyd fight was one of the worst of his career, IMO. I've seen early Hatton fights where he used his jab much more, and showed much more head movement and angles. And he did show significant improvement vs. Malignaggi, IMO - not nearly enough, but he's got an intense training camp ahead of him, and the Malignaggi fight was a step in the right direction. Those who say Malignaggi is no opposition are forgetting how many predicted Hatton would be outboxed in that fight.

Don't get me wrong, I ain't writing Ricky off, I rate him as a good fighter, but not a fighter who can successfully compete with true elites such as Pacquiao and Mayweather. He still has a good chance, but I see a T/KO for Pacquiao.

I think a UD is more likely, in fact I would be willing to bet that he doesn't get stopped. And whether he does or not, I think it will be very competitive for the first few rounds at least, and a great fight.

Another thing -- Pacquiao is a southpaw. I don't think Ricky particular likes those.

But that is one area where a good gameplan can make a big difference. He'll spar with lots of southpaws, I'm sure.

Pac loses to slick fighters, not brawlers like Hatton.

I don't think he's really fought anyone with Hatton's style, though. IMO a lot depends on how much Hatton listens to Floyd.

At 147 PBF IS leagues better than Pac at 140.

P4P it's much close but pac is a SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT.

FACT: Hatton has a better KO rate than Pac.

Hatton has less fights. Pac has 53 fights under his belt, so there's no wonder he has a lower KO ratio. But the difference in KO ratio? Only 2%. Ricky has had 7 fewer fights.

If Ricky has 7 more fights (which I doubt), he'll finish with a lower KO ratio than Pac has now. I'd put my house on it.
