I guess I just don't really see the point to starting series of threads designed to encourage it whilst the more worthwhile discussion is pushed further into the background.

I've made the points I wanted to make though, carry on.
If you PM me a list of those fighters i will defend them in the same manor.

In addition to Roy Jones and Joe Calzaghe I think the following guys cop an unwarranted amount of hate on here:

      Wladimir Klitschko
      David Haye
      Bernard Hopkins
      Kelly Pavlik
      Floyd Mayweather
      Manny Pacquiao
      Oscar de la Hoya
      Paul Williams

And there are a great deal many others. That should be a start for you though.

I couldn't defend Mayweather cause he's such a prick, he's a great fighter none the less. LOL!

Maybe so. Still, the way ppl talk about Floyd on here sometimes you would think he never fought a fighter with a winning record in his entire career.

What ive picked up about Floyd is he gets hate because of who he never fought instead of some of the guys he did fight. Some of the hate is understandable....Especialy after his poor run of fights at 147.

On the flip side of that though Floyd aint nothing but a 140 guy himself so maybe the hate is a bit hard. He held the title hostage though and for that he is undefendable. He should really have be fighting Cotto or Margarito.

When his career is rubbished it is dumb though....He's beat as many great fighters as anyone and looked good doing it.

Lets remember.....After beating the dead on his feet James Toney he then went on to duck the likes of Chris Eubank, Graciano Rocchigiani, Nigel Benn and Steve Collins......Instead of fighting these top rated fighters he took on the likes of Antoine Byrd, Who? Vinny Pazienza, former lightweight who had not long returned from a broken neck, Tony Thornton, Postman , Eric Lucas, a Glen Catley victim and Bryant Brannon, a former cop...I could be mistaking about him being a cop but thats what i heard....He's garbage anyway so its beside the point. LOL!

How in the hell could anyone rate Jones above Calzaghe at 168?

Fanboys i tell ya....Groupie love at its finest!!!!

Roy ducked EVERYONE at 168 after he beat dead on his feet Toney.....The ducking was shameless!
I agree Joe will be rated higher than Roy at 168 but his career will not. People will never talk about Joe the way they talk about Roy.

I felt Floyd was truly at his best at 130 and 135 where he beat the likes of Castillo, Corrales, Hernandez and Chavez. He had some good wins at 140 and above, but it is in those lower divisions where he was definately at his best. Still, beating guys like Oscar and Hatton are still very very good wins.

Calzaghe will be rated higher in Europe and Roy in America. It depends on where you are from. So, you're wrong.

Floyd cant be faulted below 140, he's one of the greats down there.
