All fanboys and die hard fans of anything are nuts and have a hard time seeing things from a clear perspective. Its just the way it goes.

Yeah, i could see maybe a close SD either way but id defo lean to Calzaghe...After Tarver Roy said that tall southpaws who can jab would always give him problems and to add Calzaghes early power and his speed and workrate he'd have been a very bad style match for Roy IMO.

He beat Toney and Hopkins, just with those 2 fights his resume 10 times better than Calzaghe's

If you are talking achievements then clearly Joe is the best 168 pounder ever.

In a prime for prime matchup at the weight I will take Jones by decision.

Just a note though, what you are pretty much doing is just cherry-picking comments ppl make on this site and using them to try and take away from what Jones has achieved.

Anyone could do this with pretty much any fighter. It is pointless.

A green Hopkins and a weight drained Toney.

Using your logic i could easily say Calz wins over Hop and Roy were better.

Exactly my point....Roy acheived nothing at 168 to be compared to Calz at 168.

In my opinion, stating that Roy Jones is the best SMW ever is a joke of a comment. I think most Roy Jones fans would agree with that. Roy's achievements at 168 don't stack up to Calzaghe's.

These things are being "stated and debated" mostly by ppl who just post purely because they are motivated by hate. By starting these threads you are encouraging them in and basically lumping yourself in with them.

Yet some "respected" posters like the guy i have in my sig are debating **** along these lines with me.

Come on dude, the Calzaghe hate on here is pretty much a disgrace from pretty much everyone. LOL!

A lot of fighters get unwarranted hate, including Joe.

I guess I just don't really see the point to starting series of threads designed to encourage it whilst the more worthwhile discussion is pushed further into the background.

I've made the points I wanted to make though, carry on.

                      Completely agree.

basis for a debate should be what took place inside the ring period. Not mambo jumbo opinion based theories and speculations.
