but then again calzaghe has never been hit NOT as many times, but as hard as roy and by a heavyweight
so when you say joe's chin is cracked, roy's is gone by now, does'nt mean roy never had a chin, which he did, and go watch the jones ruiz fight, he takes a big hit from ruiz

How many excuses can you find my friend? You talk about these Roy Fans but you are obviously willing to go out on any desperate limb to play the man down.

Roy WAS one of the best of all time. Yes he got knocked out after coming down in weight and hasnt been the same since. Thats it, thats all.

        BS.

Kessler and Eubank were massive punchers (bigger than Glen and Tarver) and they caught Calzaghe with bombs.

Ruiz was just garbage dude....He shouldn't even be brought up in this convo he was ****.

Ruiz never caught Roy with a big shot that was lean in the fight either...Not once. Dont need to watch that one again to know that.

And anyway, I thought Kessler eventually agreed to a fight with Miranda, but then Miranda turned it down?

As for "taking the Calzaghe route", maybe some fighters would be wise to do so. Joe may be disrespected on here by a few forum twerps, but at the end of the day (to use a Calzaghe-ism) he's going into the history books and the HOF whether they like it or not.

Retiring as an undefeated millionaire... or gaining the respect of a few completely ******, insignificant doubters... yeah, tough choice right there!
Calzaghe is no joke. However, I do think he could have and should have more higher profile fights with great fighters in their prime to be considered all time. I dont think he reached that level. The talent was there but the resume isnt.

He probably went out as good as possible with money an undefeated record and so on. You cant really ask for more than that and people shouldnt hate on it either.

We can all just speculate what could have been.

                    fought

                    Holyfield 3 times
                    Rahman
                    golatta
                    toney
                    mccline

                    Riuz has a solid resume.

[QUOTE=The Gunner;4722422]The difference between Roy and Calzaghe are when Roy gets hit can stay hit. Calzaghe has great powers of recovery.

No, im not. What im saying is he'd have avoided him like everyone else at 168 after taking the title....Wasn't that ****ing obvious? Only a ****** could pick that up wrong.

Do you think i said that? Did i imply he would have anywhere? No!

We'd never have known though because like every other dangerous fighter at 168 he'd have avoided him.

Why would Roy have avoided him? ummm, I dont know. Maybe because he avoided every other danger at 168?

Yea you arent implying anything. Is this guy serious?
