Nope, this poster has some sort of insecurity as a brit. No one is basing there opinion of Khan/Barrera on Prince Hamed. This is a very dumb thread with neatly placed pathetic jabs at at Americans. People hate on Khan b/c he's recieved a lot of hype and has a suspect chin, Nothing more. Start over duke, Fail.
Classic NSB cliches...

I didn't even see that initially I was so irritated by the "bias brit, lamo" routine... I didn't even MENTION Amir Khan. Wasn't even THINKING of Amir Khan when I made this thread.Nope, this poster has some sort of insecurity as a brit. No one is basing there opinion of Khan/Barrera on Prince Hamed. Duke, lets "keep it real" There is some insecurity on this message board from both parties. An American can't even criticize a British fighter without being labeled xenophobic or "jealous".
One time on this board I suggested Nate Cambell would beat Hatton and this person claimed I was just a jealous American who wanted to see Ricky get beat.
When people start saying Calzaghe gets ridiculed because of his nationality there is some problems. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of American nationalists on this board but I could point the finger in the other direction as well. Mayweather has a better resume than Joe and he has been dismissed for ages on this forum, but Joe is coming close. The whole American vs Brit thing is very played out and your use of satire may be the only shining moment.Last edited by Enemy/Friend; 02-08-2009, 12:49 PM.Comment

I tell you what, Enemy/Friend, I like you, brother. Your posts entertain me, your logic appeals to me and you make my **** hard.
I really wish I hadn't started this thread off with a "Brit" one, cos it's taken it straight away into a direction I wish it hadn't gone.
As for biases, I have two reactions... if I see a Fat Yank doing it, I laugh and mock. If I see a UK poster saying "David Haye could beat King Kong" I cringe and hide my face in embarrassment.Comment

Does the ethnic **** ever get old around here? Odds are the cats who talk **** on either side about 'limeys' or 'yanks' are all just teenagers anyway. Who gives a **** what they say? Race gets way too much play on here.Comment

That is great complement coming from a boxing scene veteran. HAHAI tell you what, Enemy/Friend, I like you, brother. Your posts entertain me, your logic appeals to me and you make my **** hard.

"Styles make fights"
For example: "Yeah OK, I can't think of any logical reason that Haye would beat Wlad, and his style isn't really suited to doing so, but he'll win because...styles make fights".
It's just a line that is trotted out whenever someone wants to believe something, but can't find even a single reason for doing so.
It's also used by people looking to excuse a loss: "Yeah, fair enough, he lost to a C level opponent, but styles make fights" as if the defeat doesn't matter and can't be used to judge how good a boxer is, and we should believe that a 37 year old with 17 losses just happened to be his kryptonite, but that those flaws will never been capitalised on by a world class opponent, only some random journeyman.Comment
