despite the hate he gets ( Some of it is rightfully deserved ) it is hard to argue against him being the most talented fighter of the generation

Co-sign... even without his speed his defense will still be top notch. His accuracy is incredible.

For example, Foreman without power is very ordinary. RJJ/Whitaker without such good reflexes look a lot more beatable, etc, etc.

I'm going to start a put forward Marvin Hagler. A truly complete fighter, the man could do everything. Even discounting the man's amazing chin, he's still en elite level fighter.

Hagler lacked speed imo. Hagler could be outboxed too, he tried to outbox Leonard and lost and he tried to Box Duran and nearly lost.

Even the guy that beat Hagler(Watts) was a Boxer, although i dont think Hagler lost that fight TBH.

Sure speed is one of his assets, but it's not everything.

He has a tremendous ring IQ, a great punch selection, and a cunning ability to adapt if needed during a fight.

His defence is amongst the greatest ever.

He has pop in his punches, even at 147. At 130, he was a tremendous puncher.

He is one of the most technically sound fighters I've ever seen.

Let's not forget, he has a pretty damn good chin, too.

And you're telling me Floyd is not a complete fighter?

Leonard is the most complete fighter imo.

Why? because he could stand there and **** it out with you and he was illusive, quick of hand and foot, reflexes, chin, heart of a champion.

Leonard found a way to win too.

BTW taking away RJJ speed is like taking away Hagler's Southpaw stance.

Take away speed from any fighter and they are ordinary. To take away the amount of speed you would need to make Roy average would leave most fighters with NOTHING.

                    Exactly!

Jones only incorporated the style he has, because of the speed he possesses, if Jones was a slower fighter to begin with its very concievable he wouldn't have adopted the style he did.
