why the **** do ppl have problems with big fighters like marg, PW or hopkins boiling themselves down and taking on people in that weight category. if you can make the weight then you belong there!! ffs every guy in boxing does the same thing, joe calzaghe is not a SMW hes a LHW, but i dont have a problem with him taking on SMW's because he can make the weight. the same applies to other boxers like haye, marg, williams hopkins at MW. all of these guys have a strong work ethic and the hunger and motivation to really put themselves through the grinder, rather than appreciate it and commend it we have people who make them out to be cowards.

what is probably more deserving of the label cowardice is b-hop calling out smaller fighters, DLH, mayorga even calling out winky is embarassing. whats even more embarassing is the pride he takes in beating down a fighter who clearly does not belong in the same ring with him. b-hops level of comp in the MW defenses is pretty poor.

imo what even more cowardly is him saying that he will never fight dawson. the reason; he doesn't want to take the W against a young american fighter. that to me sounds like a pretty thin smokescreen, hes ducking him and its that simple. he'll fight pavlik because he knows that he can beat him and that pavlik is tailor made for him but a soon as we have someone who can box a little and is quite big himself then bernard comes out saying that he doesn't want to fight him for the good american boxing.

if he thinks anyone will buy into that hes having a laugh!

I said draw because if it goes to a dicision,Im thinking B-Hop schooled the youngster, but if it is by ko,Im thinking Dawsons speed caught up to B-Hop and makes him look his age!!

lol, you're an idiot. First off, every fighter in the world wants or wanted to fight de la hoya, doesn't matter what weight class they are in. Doesn't matter if a fighter is bigger or smaller, they all want a piece of de la hoya, and rightfully so, he is every fighters biggest payday. Second, so what if he fought some smaller guys? When he was a middleweight, there never really were any big names other then hopkins, he would fight anyone lower or higher that would challenge him or were made his mandatory. Plus, you act as if he never fought bigger guys, tarver, glen johnson and even calzaghe are a few worth of note.

imo what even more cowardly is him saying that he will never fight dawson.
He's ****in 44 damn years old. Repeat that in your head - 44 years old. That's ****in ancient in boxing. If hopkins doesn't want to fight Dawson, or anyone else for that matter, that's his decision. He doesn't owe boxing anything, he's done more then anyone could have possibly dreamed of, he's accomplished everything he possibly can. Why fight another 26 year old fighter? He just did that in pavlik. He doesn't need to prove ****.

Well, in order to crown a TRUE world champion in the Light Heavyweight division, these two men must fight. I'm sure HBO would pick up on the fight. It's not quite a PPV card, but it could be a VERY solid World Championship Boxing telecast.

This is a fight that can go either way. That said, I would take Dawson by decision. Cad is getting better, while Bernard keeps getting older. Age HAS to catch up with him one of these days.

However, one thing people need to realize is.. Some boxers don't just get OLD, in one fight. Sometimes, it takes three or four fights. Like, Casamayor, for example.

True enough. But if and when this fight got made he would be close to 45 years old. I realize Hop is an exception in boxing, but it still can't last forever. He certainly didn't look his best against Calzaghe, and Dawson is bigger, faster, and hits harder than Joe in my opinion. With all that, it still wouldn't surprise me if Hopkins won, I just happen to favor youth in the particular match up.

fine he wants the DLH fight but why the **** call out mayorga? or vargas? wtf is tht about? whats annoying is that he then has the nerve to say that DLH is a reputable name for him to have on his resume - newsflash hes a ****in WW!!!

as for his defenses at MW yes they poor, no it wasn't his fault, but twice he face a fighters i would consider to be top 15 p4p material at the time that they fought him and both times he came up short (RJJ and taylor). his best win at MW was probably g johnson, even then glen at the time hadn't really matured or developed the style that would make him successful.

yes he did fight bigger guys or guys as big as him - calzaghe, taylor, pavlik, tarver and RJJ are all fighters who at the time of him fighting them were considered good fighters. but hes lost to 3/5 names mentioned there, the other one had to move up 10 pounds to face him. Tarver is his best win imo and a very strong win, its hard to discredit that, you could argue that tarver was weight drained but alot of fighters have to shift 7/8 pouns on the days before weigh in so thats a good win for nard.

as for him being 44 yrs old? really i didnt know that(?) its only mentioned on these boards about three times a day. seriously man, get the bernard hopkins ***** out of your ass.

its not that hes 44 years old that annoys me its the fact that hes saying he doesn't want to fight dawson for the good of amerian boxing, if you believe that is the real reason he doesn't want to face him then youre a bigger tw*t than i thought.
