have you lot seen roy jones - heart of a champion? thats a serious documentary. roy is an ATG regardless of the knockout losses. and although calzaghe beat him up you gotta respect roy for working his way back into a position to make that fight.

I liked Roy Jones getting Roy Jones'd. I hoped it would show him that if anybody can "Roy Jones" Roy Jones, then he really needs to retire.

It's wins like that that get overlooked. Malinga was step for step with Eubank and beat Benn TWICE IMO. He got KTFO by Roy.

Thomas Tate is another solid win. That guy was a contender for like a 100 years. Remember how he battered Omar Sheika? Couldn't last two rounds with Roy.
Yea i totally agree bro then you have wins over opponents like Julio Cesar Gonzalez, who took Dariusz Michalczweski's 48-0 undefeated record. When you actually dig deeper into some of Roy Jones Jr's opposition i think some people would be suprised.

Those people weren't following the sport then. Sometimes I choke on my food when I read that Mayweather or some of these other fighters who I respect greatly have a better resume than him. I mean...please. His domination of Reggie Johnson alone blows 99% of their resumes out of the water.

trus i fully agree with that bro.
i think honestly alot of the ppl that post on here are young and have only been following boxing since the "mayweather, Pacman, hatton" era. they just hit up youtube and base thier whole opinions on fighters from the tribute vids they see.

Yep, prime RJJ is a pure sight to behold, I find myself coming back over and over to watch his fights. As already said, it's simply unreal what he was capable of.

There's an awesome highlight video of him on youtube, I think i've shown it to just about everyone I know, and strangely enough most people (even those that hate boxing) thought it was a really good video.

Favorite RJJ punch atm: the last shot thrown right at the end of round 2, in his fight against Clinton Woods.

I posted on another thread that the Woods fight was where Jones' slippage was in plain sight for everyone to see. He had to go all out against Clinton and while his offensive display was a marvel, it was clear his defense - particularly his legs - weren't what they were.

IMO Jones was the most talented fighter of the last fifty years.should have got out after the ruiz fight, but nothing thats happened since takes anything away from what he did before in my eyes

Do you remember that body shot i think it was at the end of the 3rd round ? where he hit Clinton Woods so hard at the end of the round, Clinton Woods walked back to the corner doubling over ? brutal. As a brit i was proud of Clinton Woods that night he got battered, but he showed alot of bottle and spirit.
