Fight of the year? You mean Miguel Cotto got his ass whipped that year. Cotto hit Margarito a bunch of times with his best shots but he never hurt Margarito, made him stagger nor wobble. Now people will try to give Cotto a pass because of the "Plaster substance" he may or may not have used during their match up which will never be revealed only assumed but that would mean he had it on when he fought Paul Williams right? Because when Margarito connected on Paul he hurt him bad but out of the two, Cotto took the worst beating. Skills pays the bills boys.

I'm not a fanatic I just call it how I see it. They did say it was fight of the year but in all reality Cotto looked like a truck backed up on his face & Margarito looked like he still had enough stamina to go another 3 or 4 rounds. Cotto was not trying to come out of the corner right away that 2nd time. He had enough and you could see it in his face. His will got beat out of him. In his defense he did throw a lot of punches (That had NO effect) Because they didn't wear down Margarito.

Shane Mosley whipped on Margarito & put his foot in his ass! Vernon Forrest did take it to Shane in the first fight but Shane never quit nor did his corner. The difference between Shane & Cotto is that Mosley is a tougher fighter over all. I knew Margarito would beat Cotto from when they first called the fight. Cotto's an aggressive power puncher & Margarito is an aggressive power puncher with a high punch out put & can take a punch. Now you have two aggressive hard hitting guys in the ring but only the toughest will come out on top & Margarito was that man. I always said if Cotto can't hurt you then he is clueless on how to beat you. Cotto didn't utilize his talent to expose Margarito like Shane did. Cotto had NO answer for the pressure because he NEVER felt it before.
