  • Miguel Cotto's Camp is Tougher Than Usual For Jennings

Miguel Cotto is training hard in the hot lights of his camp in Puerto Rico, preparing for his February 21 ring return against Michael Jennings. The fight will top a card at New York's Madison Square Garden, and Top Rank pay-per-view will televise the split-feed event that has Kelly Pavlik defending his middleweight titles against Marco Antonio Rubio in Ohio. Cotto-Jennings will have the vacant WBO welterweight title on the line. [details]

It makes sense that he would be having more trouble with weight after the long lay-off.

But the right shoulder is very concerning. That's bad news and I'm surprised the camp let that get out.

When he first came at 170 to camp. i said that, that was ridiculous for Cotto and that he was going to have a tough time getting down to 147, but NSB experts call me a idiot that COtto was fine. Well, there you go.

I hope he makes weight without draning to much, he needs to stay focus in traning after this, he can go a get drunk like he do and party a la Hatton.

About the right shoulder this is the first time I have heard of this, but I bet he have had this before.

Anyways he will get pass Jennings but he needs to stay focus and train for his next fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He will....when you take as much time off as he did your bound to struggle a little more making weight. If his next fight is in June, he'll stay in better shape in between, weight-wise I think this is an aberration.

But the shoulder still worries me.

Yea, I've heard it was really bad. Imagine how much more powerful his right cross would be without that accident? For a natural southpaw he's got a very good right cross.
