Yes it's hilarious him saying "I don't need Calzaghe. He's making a mistake thinking I need him for a pay-day as I'm doing quite fine, thanks very much." Calzaghe doesn't think about Froch at all, but Froch is obsessed with Calzaghe, and whether he needs Calzaghe or not, Froch obviously thinks he needs him, while claiming the opposite. But he's right at some point, Froch doesn't need Calzaghe... what he need is to prove himself more against top opponents available, make more exciting fights so people would continue to gain interests in his fights and make a name for himself. Riding on a popular boxer's name won't establish respect from fight fans nor his fellow boxers.

While several of Froch's statements carried some truth, and maybe only one needed to be stated; at a time like this, maybe show a touch more class in respecting a very good fighter. I always have and always will think Calzaghe is overrated (at times I underated him though), but that doesn't mean the man doesn't deserve some measure of respect for what he did in the ring.
