You'd have to be a serious hater to compare Calzaghe to Ottke.

The comparison was made only because of an earlier comment of "you have to be a special fighter to make 20 title defenses" (or something to that effect). Ottke holds the all time Super middleweight record with 21.

According to the earlier quote, it would not only qualify Ottke for Top 100 status, but in effect make him a lock for the HOF. Yet nobody would argue that Ottke even belongs in either category, and its possible that, in this his first year of HOF eligibility, his name doesn't even make its way to the ballot, much less get elected.

The moral being, there's more to Joe's resume than 20 alphabet title defenses.

he made over 20 title defences sure, but i can think of many fighters who made a couple defences and who lost that id rate higher than calzaghe. Hes **** boring aswell to watch. If he fought in anouther era no way would he stay unbeaten.
