This is what I like, you are quick to give no credit for beating Michele Piccirillo. Yet some how Rivera would have different.

But you say, Mayorga hadn't done anything prior to the fight to warrant the title opportunity? Before the Trinidad loss( at a weight he didnt belong). Its debatable he hadnt lost in 20+ plus fights, over 6 years. During that run he fought p4p ranked and number 1 welter Forrest twice. One one by knockout and a 12UD. Also knocked out then WBA champ Andrew Lewis.

I find it hard to discredit somebody who won 8 of the 10 rounds.
He did what he was supposed to do with Piccirillo, I took it for what it was worth. He beat the tuneup fight and earned a big payday with Oscar de la Hoya. Rivera was a completely different situation, he never showed up on weight for that fight and cause the bout to the slashed. This fight with Angulo also had to be slashed, though for different reasons.

We're talking about the 154 pound WBC belt, right? Then what the f--- do I care about what he did at 147 pounds? Tell me that, please. I want to know what he accomplished at 154 pounds, not 147 pounds, to earn that title shot.

Mayorga probably wasn't training hard and knew he had a beating coming. He's always been low class in my eyes.

He did get in shape for the Mosley fight. Probably got discouraged from being stopped in the 12th too.

When he started making some money it seemed like he stopped caring
I don't think he trained more than a week for the De La Hoya fight

What was in the bottle? If you can tell me what was in the bottle, I will forever disavow being a fan of Pryor. But you can't, can you?
