oh well, might have been too early for Angulo anyway. Mayorga is clearly a flawed fighter, but hes way craftier than people give him credit for. I think he had a better chance than most people gave him.
of course he had a good chance, i was going to bet on a mayorga KO

sensational seems to think that angulo was going to beat mayorga worse than shane

    LOL

Mosley was bothered by the unorthodox angles from which Mayorga's punches came from. Mayorga is a guy who is known to cut corners in camp and most likely was nowhere near weight for the fight. After the last fight with Mosley, I doubt he was in a hurry to get back in the gym.

It's a question of motivation, Mayorga just doesn't seem to want it anymore and hasn't for a long time.

that's perfectly fine and nobody can dispute that

i was amused @ how it appeared that you were incinuating that mayorga was in for a worse beating than the one shane gave him

You should be grateful, you were going to lose a lot of money. Mayorga has gotten his ass kicked one too many times to be able to compete with the best. I don't think Angulo is anything special but he has power and is much bigger naturally than Shane Mosley or De La Hoya.

Face it kid, Mayorga is finished.

              I agree.

The difference between Shane and Angulo is Shane looked more likely to decision him going into a bout where as he knows Angulo is gonna be looking to take him into the trenches and beat him up, If he aint in condition for someone like Angulo he will get a worse beating than he did off Trinidad.

Tough guys at lighter divisions with no boxing ability rarely last when they move up to heavier divisions. Mayorga simply cannot withstand getting hit clean anymore, his punch resistance is gone and his conditioning has failed him too much of late.

I discount the Vargas fight in many ways because Vargas himself was a "shot" fighter.

Gary Shaw didn't match Angulo up with Mayorga for his guy to get knocked out. This was a handpicked, conscious decision. They know Angulo is no speed demon and would likely lose to a guy with speed and boxing ability like a Sergio Martinez.

So they pick guys who are complete antithesis of a Martinez in Mayorga, a brawling, slow, aging fighter with questionable training habits. Like Andrey Tsurkan and Archak TerMeliksetian, they want opponents for Angulo who he won't have to find because those guys make Angulo look good.

King is taking a hit with Mayorga and Santos not fighting on what was supposed to be his card.
