Mentioning Kelly Pavlik will only hurt your cause considering Calzaghe offered Kelly a fight before he even faced Taylor and gained a name for himself. Pavlik wanted Calzaghe but instead he went after the man he called in his Auto Biography a shot fighter, that wouldn't be worth his time. Hopkins had to take on a young lion while Joe beat up on Tarver and Johnson leftovers. Speaking of Johnson, How Many times did Calzaghe pull out of a fight with him?

Oh, sorry, Hopkins is only ever past it when referring to Joe fighting him.

Hopkins is past it anyone could of seen his stamina decreasing since his fight with Winky. Pavlik was there to be hit and the style suited Bernard which allowed him to expend less energy.

I am still a fan of Pavlik after his loss and there are plenty of Kelly fans on this board. What do you expect them to say after the Hopkins debacle that Kelly would destroy Calzaghe? Just remember it was Hopkins who exposed Pavlik not Joe, the fans that left poor Pavlik did so because of Bernard. Calzaghe wanted Jones instead of a prime fighter that could of been added to his resume.....
