What has Lacy ever done! The reason everyone thought Lacy would beat Calzaghe is no one knew who Calzaghe was, it had little to do with who Lacy was.

Pavlik was just a name some people threw out there to question Calzaghe's desire to prove himself. Some of the same people are now throwing Dawson's name out there for the same reasons. But that shouldn't cloud any objective view of how legitimate a challenge Chad represents.

Chad is multiple times more legitimate a threat than Pavlik ever was. Dawson is Joe's only rival to the title of best lightheavyweight as it stands.

It is funny to recall some of the comments about Lacy, though. Who remembers that one about Jeff being a whole "different class of fighter" to Calzaghe (or words to that effect)?

Joe Calzaghe-Jeff Lacy is a mismatch. Lacy is going to destroy that boy. He's too strong, he's a fighter - he's proved himself.

Calzaghe never did anything. He beat Chris Eubank nine years ago, but what has he done since then? He's a joke, that's why he keeps pulling out of fights.

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this one. Everybody in the UK is over-protected, but Lacy will be OK, because he's a fighter.
