Lol ok then. If Pernell could somehow manage to keep Duran off of him and get into his head Pernell would win. Big If tho.

I understand he is your boy, so I won't exert too much energy trying to debate it with you. Keep in mind that I am a Floyd fan though. He was in my top few current faves when he was active. i just see no possible way for him to win more than a couple of rounds against Pea.

The only people that agree with you Larry are kids that have never seen Whitker pre DLH. Majority of people that saw a prime Whitaker are picking him.

They are very different fights though. Against a prime Pea you are talking about a 135 pound fight whilst against a prime Oscar you are talking about a big Welter. Size becomes a factor there.

Azumah Nelson was a bit of beast too you know and Whitaker kept him off him and he kept Chavez at bay too. Its definitely concievable.

I'd almost go as far as to say everyone. If ppl have sat and watched Pea's fights a LW and think Floyd could beat him then I just gotta say wow and give it up.

Personally I would pick Floyd over Whitaker, Whitaker had much better reflexes and dodged better than probably anyone I've seen, other than maybe Pryor, but Floyd was more complete IMO. PBF could fight both on the inside and the outside, and was smarter in the ring IMO, Whitaker relied a lot on his reflexes, but it would be a chess match, and I see Floyd taking the decision.

Not for nothing but 33 isn't really young. At all. Just ask...Jose Louis Castillo .

DLH beating Pea means nothing. Pea was one foot out the door when they fought while Oscar was at his physical peak. And like most people, I thought Pernell won. Not quite the indictment you want it to be.

You're right. Jose Louis Castillo is no bum. What then, should we call Julio Cesar Chavez? Azumah Nelson?

Pernell has been dropped so Floyd beats him? Logic much?

Have you seen Pernell fight? He was a master at both inside and outside fighting. If we are going to compare their inside games it really isn't close, Pernell all day.
