    Complaint: The Ring's p4p list

    1. Manny Pacquiao

    2. Juan Manuel Marquez

    3. Joe Calzaghe

    4. Bernard Hopkins

    5. Israel Vazquez

    6. Shane Mosley

    7. Rafael Marquez

    8. Ivan Calderon

    9. Ricky Hatton

    10. Celestino Caballero

    -----------------------------------------------------------

I dislike Calzaghe, but why is he not number 2?

I also dislike Vic Darchinyan, but why is Shane Mosley, all of a sudden, catapulted up to number six? Vic, imo, accomplished more by winning the WBC, WBA, IBF belts by beating Dimitri Kirilov and the very talented and once p4p fighter, Cristian Mijares.

Celestino Caballero? Ricky Hatton? okay, I guess...

is today's p4p lists based on a fighter's style or more on accomplishments?

someone explain Ring's reasoning to me

Do I count 4 or 5 Golden Boy fighters on there? Strange since Golden Boy owns the Ring.

Only reason i can think of for JMM being 2 is the fact that he moved up 2 lightweight and knocked out "The Man". its also his 3rd or 4th weight class he has competed in (not 100%) sure. also the very close fight he had wid pac probably helps him.

some1 made a comment on here about ricky hatton not being worthy of his placing and i thought about it and totally agree. he has moved 7lbs north of his division twice and on both times he has not looked good. to me that doesnt equal pound for pound status.

Marquez deserves to be #2 since he came about as close as possible to beating the #1 guy and has a solid win after.

I agree Vic Darchinyan should be on the list...he should take the spot of Caballero or Ricky Hatton.

Oh well it's not that bad. It should correct itself within the next few months. I bet after Vic gets his win coming up he'll be inserted.

i'll have joe over jmm too. undefeated champ in a loong period means more than having close fights w/ pac and winning over an aging casa.

Agreed, Golden Boy stay out of Ring affairs. They have an independent panel.

Also, they've written articles critisizing him after his loss to Pacquiao.

                Who knows.. ?

I tend to agree with you, you may or may not rate Marquez above Calzaghe but I don't see how they can change places until at least one of them either fights somebody, or retires. What, exactly, has changed?

Ditto Mosley... it was a good win against Margarito, but in itself worthy of an instant catapult to #6 P4P? I don't think so.

Mosleys domination over Margarito could put him as far as #3 as far as Im concerned. I dont remember exactly, but wasnt Margarito #5 or 4 or something before Mosley beat the stuffing out of him? plus think about his one sided win over Collazo, and the fact that the Cotto fight actually could have gone either way, although most people did have Cotto winning.

Darchinyan should probebly deserve to be above Caballero.

Im not too big on Hatton being there either.

Im fine with Marquez being #2. he arguably just beat the number 1, and then went on to KO Casamayor.

I have a feeling it will be much different after this month.

I'm not saying it's definite bias. Most those guys deserve their spots in my mind. Hatton is borderline. I just think it's something we have to keep in my in the future.
