man i like Concepcion but i dont think he ready for the move up and against someone of a pretty good level fighter in Steven Luevano. He's gonna make this into a pure boxing match using his movement and short combinations to control the fight. i think Luevano will take this fight...Comment

Yeah, Luevano's been a featherweight longer and is actually Ring Magazine's 2nd ranked featherweight in the planet, but Concepcion got a bit of good speed too, not to mention power, a decent chin and tons of heart, so I think we have ourselves an interesting match-up here.man i like Concepcion but i dont think he ready for the move up and against someone of a pretty good level fighter in Steven Luevano. I slightly give Lueveno the edge. lol I never thought I'd say that. If his defense is on, he can easily outpoint this guy.
But I also wouldn't be surprised if Lueveno gets the knock out. He gets some great leverage on his shots, I think the only reason you don't see more dominant performances for Steven is because they have him fighting soooo light. They're killin this kid to make weight it looks like, I mean I've seen him land some hard solid shots on guys and they fall.
Win or lose Lueveno needs some base to that wirey body. He should move up and then toy with commiting to some of his fast hard shots. But this fight is perfect for both of them. If Lueveno can handle a barny(sp) lol, if he can handle some Barny assaults and pull out a KO or a decision, he needs to move up. He's been lookin too fragile at this weight. But again the thing that sticks out, is the leverage he gets when he commits to his punches, which is rare in itself. He rarely ever just lets his hands rip, which I think is because he is pretty fragile at this weight.
I wanna see him with a solid base/weight while throwin his BEST punches.
I just have a feeling he would be a beast.Last edited by MaYaN_SuN; 02-02-2009, 08:06 AM.Comment
