Damn! I have been talking about this with my friends since the day of the fight. I haven't seen ONE article by the so-called boxing writers that have made any mention of this. If anyone has a link that proves the contrary, please post it for me.
Steve Kim said that AM looked more like a the "Tijuana Torta" at the start of his training camp than the Tornado. I've been telling people that weight troubles and a career defining performance combined with a good fight plan on Mosley's part spelled disaster. But I agree wholeheartedly with you and some of the other posters, the weight was most definitely a factor. Gaining 15 pounds over night is a tell-tale sign of dehydration!Comment

What the ****, is the difference you IDIOT. When a fighter is affected by the weight he lost prior to a fight, he is drained. You are not used to losing a ****in arguement, that's why you are still here. Get over it homie, ur ****in' lost.Comment

When you've had to do it, come talk to me. You don't know **** about cutting weight, so STFU.Comment

Being affected by weight means that you feel the effects in the ring but not to the point of not being able to fight effectively, if you're weight drained, you don't have your legs, punch resistance is not there and you can't get off with your shots, Margarito didn't have those problems, his problem was Sugar Shane Mosley.Comment

Have you ever had to cut weight prior to a fight????
That's what I thought.

Margarito didn't get enough room to throw. Shane would either get too close or clinch and ofcourse this would result in lowering Margarito's power/ output. Same thing happend to Pavlik, when he faced B-Hop. Unlike Cotto, Shane wasn't throwing off his back foot. He stood his ground and put some serious weight behind those punches...Just from watching 1-3 I knew it was only a matter of time.
DLH on the other WAS weight drained. DLH had the distance he needed, could have thrown the jab, turn Pac and get out of the ropes...but he was clearly too weak. Like everyone said "He was a zoombie" Which also left alot of people sayin "Anyone could have beaten him that night" Which was damn true
So Margarito's case was NOTHING like DLHsComment
