It doesn't matter where Tarver was ranked after beating Roy, since 1. he had just lost to Roy in the previous fight and 2. he was not ranked anywhere near the top 10 which 3. Hatton is and 4. Tarver hadn't already beaten the #2 p4p guy which Hatton has. 5. Tarver had never won a title in his life, before winning 2 vac ones and losing them on his first defense. 6 Hatton has won 4 (would've been 5 if Malignaggi hadn't been stripped) titles in 2 weight classes, his only loss being to the p4p #1.
