He looked like he's been fed up on McDonalds, look at the video and you will notice that he's gasping for air after 30 seconds and didnt throw a single punch, only running away from kessler. if this is the best sparring partner kessler gets, then i understand why he's so lame in the ring

from what i've read they spar regularly, however - mario (being the pretty boy that he is) wears headgear that has the protective cage looking thing for his face.

I dont have an opinion, but from what I've heard from reporters who actually have seen a lot of sparring James Toney had no mercy on his sparring partners.
