Berto Willing To Step in, Fight Miguel Cotto on June 13

BoxingScene.com was informed by promoter Lou DiBella that WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (24-0, 19KOs) is willing to step in for Antonio Margarito, and take on Miguel Cotto (32-1, 26KOs) in a unification bout on June 13. Cotto still has to deal with his upcoming fight with Michael Jennings, which takes place on February 21 for the vacant WBO title. [details]

Respect to Berto for having balls. If I were him I would kick back a little longer before going for guys like this.

"Berto willing to give away his belt" sounds more like it.

Cotto will brutalize him (unless he's ruined from the Marg fight)

**** it throw him to the lion. if he has the guts to get in the ring let him win or lose he only learns and gains more experience. berto seems like the type of fighter that would benefit more from losing than winning.

                Collazo is garbage

It now or never for Berto, I say do it...

he shouldn't waste time with Collazo, he is trash and loses everytime he steps up....what a waste of talent.

Berto should unify now....I think he can win, Cotto is vulnerablw right now.

The two biggest fights for Berto are against Cotto and Mosley. All three are similiar in size. I think he would rather fight Cotto than Mosley. His chances of hurting Cotto are much better than doing any possible damage to Shane.
