The biggest difference in Mosley's approach and Cotto's approach was Mosley's physical strength. He was able to keep Marg off of him and fight a dirty fight inside.

Great game plan by him and Richardson and great execution. I personally like Mosley, think he's a class act and nobody deserves this more than him. Unbelievable for a man at 37 to pick apart a 30 year old beast like Margarito.

I will say this and it's nowhere near an excuse but Marg didn't look hungry, he looked like a completely different fighter when he was in vs Cotto. Maybe the limelight got to his head the past few months, who knows.

Styles make fights and that's why boxing is so great. I know some people will claim they knew this was going to happen all along but it was definitely an upset and shocker. I thought Mosely could win but not ko him.

AS far as the illegal stuff in Margs gloves, if it's true, then thats a shame. Although it doesn't mean he tried it with Cotto but I can understand why there would be questions.

Props once again to Mosley and his fans, great all time performance. I don't know if Marg is done but something didn't look right about him and he has taken a lot of punishment throughout his career.

Great post man. Not to take anything away from shane but the war Margarito had with Cotto although he came out victorious was a brutal one and no one really knows the affect that it had on him.

thats a factor too, but you have to give majority of the props to mosley and his team for the gameplan and the execution of it

loaded gloves for the cotto fight? check!
the real difference was shane never mixed in that underrated left hook when he fought cotto. he just flickered the jab then threw the right. i remember that fight b/c i was screaming at the tv throw the ****ing left hook.

Mosley was throwing with serious bad intentions. Say what you want about tony getting ko'd out but he still has a great chin, because for 9 rounds he was getting leveled with that right hand and was smiling.....he's a nut.

Other then Mosley's consistence, speed, power and his right hand the whole night, I would say Naazim Richardson deserves much more credit for helping Shane then does Cotto. I dislike when people take away credit from a boxer and give it to another when the real credit should go to the person who beat Margarito. The rematch between Mosley and Cotto should be a great one though...

No ones taking anything away from anyone !!! Shane fought a great fight and executed perfectly. Mosely is a hall of fame boxer and he showed it on Saturday night. If Cotto acquired the same tactic of grabbing/smothering him after every exchange and nullifying Margaritos come back instead of going backwards dodging & weaving wasting energy like an idiot the outcome would've been different.

Everything has to be taken into consideration cuz no one really knows.

Have you seen the threads that say something like "Do you think Cotto was the reason Shane won"? It's true that we don't know but I think it's safer to say Richardson did much more as a trainer than Cotto did softening Margarito. After all, Margarito was standing after the Cotto fight wasn't he? He was the winner right. He did take Cotto's punches, no? Had he dropped Margarito, then a valid point could be made but he didn't...

So, again, explain to me why nobody else has ever caught and why Richardson has a history of doing this?

I'll tell you why, because its most likely never been done before, and Richardson plays mental games as good as anyone.

Bro, It isn't our job to prove he used the same wrapping in the Cotto fight. It's Marg's job to prove he never wrapped em like that in the past.

Marg believed the hand wrap job was legal. So Why WOULDN'T he do the same wrapping for the Cotto fight, if he believed it was ok to wrap them that way?
