Wow, all I can say is wow. I never saw this coming, I knew it was going to be a tough fight but I never thought we would see the destruction of Margarito.

The biggest difference in Mosley's approach and Cotto's approach was Mosley's physical strength. He was able to keep Marg off of him and fight a dirty fight inside.

Great game plan by him and Richardson and great execution. I personally like Mosley, think he's a class act and nobody deserves this more than him. Unbelievable for a man at 37 to pick apart a 30 year old beast like Margarito.

I will say this and it's nowhere near an excuse but Marg didn't look hungry, he looked like a completely different fighter when he was in vs Cotto. Maybe the limelight got to his head the past few months, who knows.

Styles make fights and that's why boxing is so great. I know some people will claim they knew this was going to happen all along but it was definitely an upset and shocker. I thought Mosely could win but not ko him.

AS far as the illegal stuff in Margs gloves, if it's true, then thats a shame. Although it doesn't mean he tried it with Cotto but I can understand why there would be questions.

I called the fight plan and said that Mosley would be able to back marg up you didn't belive me. i didn't say Shane would KO him but I never ruled it out. I picked Shane by UD. During the fight I knew Shane was going to KO Marg after the 5th round. I saw Tony back up and go against the ropes and Shane throw some combos.,,,Lefty

I pretty much agree with your summation...IMO Margarito was looking past Mosely and didn't take him as seriously as he should have...He didn't seem to have his usual energy and drive...I think Tony thought he would just walk right through Mosely and Shane would fold...

he did try to walk all he got is power punches, u know what the difference maker was? mosley backdown when he need to with out running away and he catch margarito walking in at the right times!

Great post man. Good to read something not so negative about the fight for once.

I agree about him not looking hungry. I expected his punch count to start skyrocketing as usual, but it never did.

Props to you and you're a class act. I never thought Mosely would knock the guy out until the fight started and Margarito was getting hit by those solid shots! I knew Marg had a good chin but noone could have withstood those shots over 12 rounds without getting some shots in for himself. I agree about the hunger not being there, either it was that or how Mosely made him look kind of amatuer. I think the difference between Cotto and Mosely was the fact that Mosley dug to the body, had a consistant jab, and hung around in the pocket tapping Marg with hellified counters. I think Marg will be back but needs to stay the hell away from Sugar for the time being.
