Hattons never said he's not 147 pounder infact he's said the opposite to that. Rickys on record saying "what kind of fighter would i be if i didn't take challenges moving up in weight". Its Hattons team and more so his former coach Billy Graham that have said he's no 147 pounder.

I think its fairly evident that Hatton is not a 147 guy though....He was all over Collazo untill the strengh advantage for Luis started to take over the fight after the half way point.

He's not a welterweight, that doesn't mean he wont fight there.

This is true, but its not like he is stepping up 4 divisions. Roberto Duran gave Marvin Hagler a tough 15 round fight at 160lbs.

I believe Hatton is a genuine 147lbs, but because of his lack of skills(Margarito) he HAS to be the bigger man.

Duran didn't rely on physical strength as much after he moved up from 135, he relied more on his skills and finesse whereas Hatton's style relies a lot on physical strength on the inside against his opponents, he doesn't have that advantage at 147, some fighters just can't cross that gulf between 140 and 147.

Most LMW are 5'10-6'0 tall, Hatton is 5'7 and has the arm length of a preschool kid.
