And true, Margarito I'm sure has gotten buzzed before and he probably hides it really well but I don't think he's ever really gotten hurt to the point of him needing to survive.

I always said, if you back Margarito up, it's over.
There were two things that made me realize that it wasn't a case of Margarito starting slow, that he was in over his head. The first was in the second round, Margarito began complaining of Mosley roughhousing him. Here is supposed to be this macho mack truck and he was concerned with the Mosley in-fighting.
Second was that I noticed that Mosley was much stronger than him and was backing him to the ropes. When has Margarito ever been backed up to the ropes?

The first sign that I saw that made me think that Margarito was in for a long night was the walk in, Mosley looked the picture of focus and intensity while Margarito just didn't have that fire in his eyes that was there for the Cotto fight or the fights previous to that, and then in the first round, he got hit by a Mosley right I think and seemed to get stunned by it and moved back, I knew by that point that it was going to be a very tough fight for him.
The constant complaining was an indication too, when a fighter complains to the referee, it normally means they are uncomfortable, apart from guys like Hopkins who complains to the referee to their own gains and yeah, once I saw that Mosley could stand in there and trade with Margarito, I knew it was Mosley's fight to lose.
I definitely did not expect Mosley to be able to push Margarito back the way he did, I was also surprised at how big Mosley looked, he looked almost as big as Margarito and looked stronger than him.
Another indicator to me that Margarito was in for a long night was Mosley landing body shots in the first round, no one has landed hard body shots on Margarito as consistently as Mosley did.
The clinching was a big factor too, I mean every time Margarito tried to get something going, Mosley would either jab him or clinch him to get Margarito out of his rhythm.
Great gameplan from Richardson and great execution from Mosley.

Secondly, you're right, the first round he did seem to be stunned by a right hand. It's just hard to keep winning and be consistent when you can't get away from punches. The body work was excellent as well and Mosley just showed that he was a superior fighter.
Not so much boxer, but all fighter.

Yeah, he just couldn't get away from that right hand all night, Mosley literally couldn't miss with that punch. Mosley is one of the best in the sport right now at blocking body shots while sneaking in his own hard shots to the body.
This was probably the best performance of his long career, he'll be very hard to beat if he keeps this up with Richardson in his corner.
