      get over it.
Barrera might have been in his prime during the first fight, but I doubt he was at his best. He did just look off that night. Even when he was knocked down, he just had this look on his face like, 'Damn, now I gotta deal with this.'

He had a lot of **** on his plate, not to make an excuse. That's not Manny's fault and he handled his business. GREAT for him.

For the record, I've had Marquez beating Manny both times they fought, so I don't think if he's in his prime or not matters in that way.

Also, Morales wasn't in his prime when they fought the first time. Not to me, it's just that Manny hadn't truly reached his yet, either.

Not trying to sound like a Manny hater, I really do like the guy as a fighter. He seems like an awesome human being, as well.

and our young mexican american prospects (victor ortiz, chris arreola, vicente escobedo, robert guerrero, etc.) dont really have that classic mexican warrior mentality that we've come to love...

as it is our boy urbano antillon is being held down when this vato should be a top star by now...
lol You obviously aren't up to date on your fighters...

Arce has always been a half and half guy, just like Mijares. They both never showed signs of consistency. They just showed signs of makin competitive fights with guys they would have walked through if they were elite.

Mijares stuggles with Japanese guys and did Arce make wars with anyone worth mentioning? No. They have skill, but skill that wouldn't be looked upon as somthin to take note of. I mean Darchynian is the same thing, except he's bigger then both of them. Vic fights these smaller guys and just works em over, lol doesn't mean he can hang with Raph or Izzy. He can't even hang with Nonito.

Mexico can produce THE best fighters outside of America, you'd think they would take that more seriously then they do. People like Ignacio Berinstein take it serious, but guys like Nacho are few to say the least. I mean Arce and Mijares got praised when neither of them showed the slightest hint of thoroughness. Not to take anything away from them, but all they have done thus far is make great fights out of their equals. Mijares struggled, but showed enough heart to pull out W's against some tough but mediocre Japanese fighters. BUT HE ALWAYS ATE PUNCHES. Same with Arce, although Arce did have the shorter more crisper shots, they just weren't that devastating.

Even with Tony, he ate too many punches and it caught up to him last night. Even with the new respected trainers out of Mexico, they're focused on turning Mexicos fighters into Boxing Brawlers as oppose to brawlers. It took some time, but thats only because Boxing isn't really that big in Meixco but you get the feeling that its growing since every respected trainer in Mexico is trying to get their fighters accustom to mixing boxing with brawling.

As for this thread, lol you can't be Mexican. I'm not even from Mexico and I got eyes on out fighters across the boarder and the fighters that are on our side of the fence.

Yeah Marg got takin down, lol but we got a fluid wave of prospects to back up the fighters that are considered prospects right now lol

As for Mexican American boxing, I think Oscar and Vargas were just the beginning. They both serve as examples of exactly how not too present yourself in this country. The moment you let those good looks and money get you gassed, lol you'll lose your career inside the ring.

Yep, it was fair you guys finally got owned. On a side note, only way for Miguel Cotto to redeem himself is to fight Mosley and Pacman.

Sure he can. Manny didn't cheat and if Barrera and Morales WERE weight drained, then they deserve to lose for fighting at a division too low and going thru with the fight in the first place.

barrera didn't look like barrera in the 1st fight but he was still in his prime or close to it. if he had taken manny lightly or wasn't into the fight who's to say?

i had pac win both against marquez tbh. it's the knockdowns......killed jmm in the scorecards.

morales was past prime when he fought manny. shows how good erik is tbh. remember a shot erik almost beat diaz for the 135 belt. david is not as bad as some think.

its true, when you're a **** country that just produces people by the **** load - you're bound to come up with some good fighters.

now p4p - puerto rico - is the goods.
