Pacquiao would beat his ass with MMa gloves, have you seen him shadow box? he'd knock him the fk out. Taking someone down isn't that easy, most UFC fighters suck at stand up and even they can ward off take downs.
Agreed, and that's why I made the rounds three minutes. It takes some time to take someone down, get a dominant position and then find an opportunity to apply a submission. That's why UFC is 5 mikes. Manny would be able to fend him off for 3 minutes. Then it's off to the next round of straight lefts to BJ's face.

And with MMA gloves, it probably wouldn't last a round. Have you ever trained with 12oz gloves then hit the bag bare handed? The hands just flow. Manny would drop that fool.

I don't understand how everyone thinks they will just take it to the ground instantly, it's not that easy. most UFc fights these days actually remain standing. Back in the retro days it worked because no body saw it coming. Now its usually a lunge to the legs, take down failure, then wrestling up against the fence for a boring ugly fight. Or its just a stand up battle of unprofessionals.

Holding off a take down doesn't require technique, it requires readiness and strong legs, that's about it. Pacquiao would be ready.

My buddy always brags about his wrestling skills (he won some medal for his high school lol) It's not hard to hold him off, it only gets hard if I try to actually wrestle him.

Maybe against the Matt Hughes and Shawn Sherks of the world. But if you think he would willingly stand and trade with one of the best professional boxers on the planet, then you are sadly mistaken. He might throw a kick here or there, maybe attempt a high knee. That's a bout it.

He'll go directly for the take down, where he has every advantage. That said, I'm sure Pac is a good enough athlete to be able to learn on the job and become a very good MMA fighter in his own right, but Penn is a master of his craft. One of the best to ever do it.

It's amazing to me that people think just cuz u have a ground game u would automatically win every time. MP could move in an out and dodge his takedowns also maybe he catches him coming and knocks him out. Agree or not EVERYTIME the boxer wins under his rules but the MMA fighter wouldn't win everytime under his rules!

Manny would adapt well in this type of fight, just take a look at his legs. Manny would probably lay BJ OUT.

Remember Manny used to be a kickboxer.
Boxing only, Manny KOs Penn in less than a minute. With grappling and everything, once Penn gets Pacman on the ground Pacman's done for, but not before Pacman gets a couple of shots that messes up Penn's face.
