is Hatton deserving of a mayweather rematch?

He doesn't. He has stated repeatedly that it wasn't Cortez hitting him. But he does raise a "what if" which is valid. Hatton was not permitted to execute his gameplan because of incompetent refereeing. Was the ref the difference? That's the question that Hatton wants to answer.Comment

He can insist on having Mickey Vann as the ref if he wants. It wouldn't make any difference because Floyd is the superior fighter.Comment

He can insist on having Mickey Vann as the ref if he wants. It wouldn't make any difference because Floyd is the superior fighter. He didn't show anything to suggest he could beat Floyd last time, and ended up losing convincingly. The key factor was not Cortez's performance, however incompetent it was, it was the abilities of the fighters and I think it's delusional for Ricky to carry on with this talk.Comment

I have trouble thinking that he is deserving... especially since there are so many fighters that PBF hasn't beaten yet that I'd rather see him in the ring with. Hatton needs to get a couple of wins over HUGE opposition... not just Magic Man. If he could beat Pacquiao and one other big name, I'd say he's deserving of a rematch.Comment

Hatton and Mayweather never had a legitimate fight in the first place. The first fight was fixed - fixed judges, fixed ring, and most importantly a fixed referee who wouldn't let Hatton fight on the inside where he, of course, needed to fight since his arms are much shorter than Mayweather's. Also, the crooked ref was ostentatiously distracting Hatton all night long, screaming in his face, and in his zeal to earn his crooked Don King sheckels, he even deducted a point from Hatton for no known reason. If boxing was honest that fight would have been declared no contest and Joe Cortez would be banned from boxing for life, but unfortunately boxing is anything but honest.
