I don't see Joe even considering risk in the factor. He'd fight Robocop if it would sell out the stadium, and probably beat him. It just so happens that the biggest names aren't the toughest challengers. Lets just, as a group, all cross our fingers its either Dawson or retirement.
I don't think for his fairwell fight he should pick a big name guy and fight him. I think he should go out with a **** or just plain go out. Who wants to see this guy fighting someone that won't pose a challenge for him? Nearly everyone at LHW has fought Glen Johnson..........Bernhard Hopkins, Atonio Tarver 2x, Roy Jones, even young Up & Comer Chad Dawson. Why can't Calzaghe give him a go ahead? It has to be the right fight? Come on! He already has Doe & fame, he should fight a person that has been in the game as long if not longer than him & really get dirty and that man is Glen Johnson.

The only person I can see him trying to get at is Jermaine Taylor but he's a natural Middle Weight and don't see him being able to adapt to Calzaghe's speed at LHW. Anyways I'm not a Calzaghe fan at all but I don't discredit him for his hard work and achievements I just question why he won't fight someone competitive for his fair well fight. He wants a name? He had Roy Jones & that fight did Squat on Pay Per View so fighting a non name might help him better. You know his home town is going to come out and support him so he will get paid for sure!! Hatton sells big against no namers in the UK, why can't Joe?

        Something's dont stick!

Joe is one of those fighters that just never fully won over the American public. The truth is everyone knows that Joe is a great fighter. I believe he could have beat a prime Roy and Hopkins. He should retire nothing left to prove. Although it would have been kool for him to kick Dawson's ass and quite his critics.

I AM a huge JT fan... but Taylor would get schooled. I'd like to see him fight Dawson but I'm sick to death of PPV... 2009 should be the year without PPV's.

and some people beleive he is good enough to beat calzaghe! LMFAO!! he may well be good enough but he is nowhere near close to proving that he is worthy!!
if he could beat hopkins then i would beleive!
dont beleive the hype!! (jst another lacy/pavlik! IMO)

You could be right... I really saw him beat Johnson... but he had to struggle WAY too much to pull that fight out.

I think he's good enough to beat JC, although that doesn't mean he necessarily would. Dawson is talented, young and hungry, has an excellent record (if not quite as excellent as some suggest it is) and he's perfectly 'worthy' of the fight. That's just not the issue here, though.

dawson beat adamek who was a beltholder and top 5 light heavy and current cruiserweight champ.
dawson beat tarver who was a beltholder and top 5 light heavy
dawson beat johnson who was a top 5 light heavy

calzaghe beat 43 year old hopkins in a very dubious decision.
calzaghe beat shot jones jr but got knocked down in the process and couldn't do what tarver and johnson did years ago.

when we look at their records we can soundly say WHO HAS CALZAGHE BEATEN? and some people believe he is good enough to beat dawson! LMFAO! he may well be good enough but he is nowhere near close to proving he is worthy!! if he could beat hopkins(for real) then i would believe! dont believe the hype!!
