Joe Calzaghe Considering Final Career Bout in Cardiff

Joe Calzaghe (46-0) is considering a ring return for one last fight in his backyard of Cardiff. Since dominating Roy Jones Jr. last November in New York, Calzaghe has been taking some time off to consider his future options. During his last few interviews, he seemed to be leaning in the direction of retirement, but now he seems to be open for one last fight. [details]

And it better be Chad Dawson, not Andre.

I want it to be Dawson because he is the toughest challenger at LHW that Joe could face. But I doubt it will be because if this is a farewell fight in Cardiff, its going to be a marquee name. I wouldn't doubt if he fought RJJ again or maybe even Hopkins. I don't like either fight because he's already beaten both, but at least a Hopkins rematch would be interesting.

I hope he retires to be honest, what are the chances of us seeing him take on a young world class fighter?

Damn, you better get on the horn and start spreading the word.... every major media outlet has been misinformed.... they all reported that Hopkins lost by Split Decision with two judges seeing it 115-112 and 116-111 for Calzaghe. We need to get this cleared up ASAP if B-Hop didn't lose that fight!

i would much rather see him fight hopkins than dawson. something happened with hopkins in the pavlik fight, i know people say he tired cos of calzaghes style but thats not it. he had a thyroid problem that against calzaghe he tried to control through diet, which is a moronic thing to do. for pavlik he took the meds, which is so simple i dont know why he wouldnt, and you could see the difference. the hopkins that stepped in the ring with pavlik would paste calzaghe. and i think calzaghe knows it.
