I'm not sure if you could consider him #1, I would love to see him unify but its unlikely. the thing I like about him is that he is very small for 105, ridiculously small for 108 and thinking about 112 since other champs don't wanna unify? And all without pop in his punches.

Wow I was there, I even felt bad for Dieppa because everyone was chorusing OLE!!! every time he missed.

BTW Calderon is the purest boxer in the game.

he weighs 108 i would obliterate him

defence means nothing when you have a weight advantage

                j/k

that kid have some power and good technique... he should grab a belt @ 108 and unify with ivan.. since no one is willing to do it.. and it seems like this kid really wants to fight him...

if he gets a belt.. .he gets the shot.

Realistically he would get schooled by Calderon. He really doesn't have the footwork to follow Calderon around the ring. He really has to plant his feet to punch. If you have to plant your feet to punch, you have already lost against Calderon. As soon as you plant your feet, he will be long gone.

14 title defenses at minimum weight, 3 defenses at light flyweight. The slickest southpaw since Pernell Whitaker. Magnificent timing, fantastic footwork, incredibly accurate punching.

Nobody comes close to being able to do in the ring what Ivan Calderon can do.
Good Post. Calderon should be 5 or 6 P4P as of now, if he unifies he will definetly will be a top 3 or 4 and if he moves in weight and win a belt, he should be consider for 1 or 2.

I love the Dieppa fight. That fight shows that Calderon is not just a runner like people claim, he stand and trade too. He had to be on his bike with Cazares for obvious reasons, Cazares had a 6 in Height advantage a 5 in reach advantage and a 16 and 17 pound advantage respectivly.

About that Gonzales kid, he is good no doubt, but he is not on Calderons level, but if he wants to fight with Calderon he needs to have a belt. Calderon want to unify and he wont fight a no name up and comer who wont bring anything to the table. If they fight this year Calderon UD.

Calderons plans for this year is fighting a comeback fight in march, because of the long layoff, then he will unify with Solis(according to both camps the deal is almost done) and then he will move to 112 to fight either Narvaes or Sakata for their titles!!!!!!!
