Ah, Silencers knows his stuff...an intelligent poster in here. Good to have a colleague along the same level of intellect. )

I'd say Starling was the last decent fighter from Connecticut. He has wins over Mark Breland and Simon Brown and that's good enough for me. Bravo.

Yeah, Starling was a really good fighter back in the mid to late 80s, he gave Donald Curry all he could handle as well.

Yes, he did. And Curry was a legitimate pound-for-pound great in the early part of the decade. Curry today would be king of that distinction.

Definitely, Curry was a force before he started draining himself to make weight, his demolition of Milton McCrory was great, shame he never reached his full potential.

Did you ever see his knockout loss to Mike McCallum? That was hard to watch. His quick demise reminded me a little bit of Meldrick Taylor. Great promise, sad ending...

He was never the same after that knockout, that was a great left hook though, one of the best I've seen throwm, he was boxing really well before that and almost became the first man to knock McCallum down.

That is funny, almost as funny as the post about John Scully being one of the top trainers in the country. He couldn't train a poodle to p!ss.
