While Hatton's camp wanted an even 50-50 split, they budged a little for a 52-48 agreement in favor of Pacquiao, but the Filipino champion wants at least 55-45.

i think this is just a ploy to get hatton to agree to the smaller purse.

i mean COME ON VALERO'S NOT EVEN MEDICALLY CLEARED TO FIGHT IN VEGAS. HE'S ONLY CLEARED TO FIGHT IN TEXAS I BELIEVE? THINK ABOUT THAT BIOTCHEZ

Are you trying to be funny? Pac would win every round and probably stop Valero. I don't think it would be exciting unless you liked Pac V David Diaz.

Anyway, he's been cleared to fight in Texas since last March, and still the silence from all the top Jnr Lightweights and Lightweights is deafening.
why the hell would they fight him in mexico or venezuela?

valero doesn't even fight in venezuela for christ's sake.

valero ain't ****. why is it that everytime a nobody has a crap resume the excuse is it's because no one will fight him?

he can stay in japan for all i care. he doesn't impress me much , which is sad 'cause the fights i've seen him against are total japanese tomato cans.

i mean what's the point of fighting hatton?

he's only the lineal 140 champ and they were only gonna pay manny like $15 million.

valero is a much better choice. sure he doesn't have a belt nor has he ever fought at the weight the fight would be held at......oh and he can't fight in vegas......but it's okay. he made a youtube video calling out pac. hatton's never done that.
I've seen one or two Valero fights, I think one of them was Mosquito, or whatever the hell his name was (or maybe it was Nobu****o ****.) Anyway the ref kept warning Valero for holding his hand straight out to keep the other, shorter guy out of punching range while he tried to load up with a bomb. I was not impressed, and I really wanted to like him.

the way i see it manny is the new oscar de la hoya, he is the main attraction, he IS boxing right now! period. everybody wants to fight pac, even margarito, i dont see anyone lining up to fight hatton. ricky could fight the rest of his fights in the UK, i could care less, all hes done in the US is get KTFO, barely beat collazo, beat old castillo, and beat a bum in malignaggi, hes in no position to get an even split, pacquiao has done way too much for the sport, he has beaten so many great fighters and he doesnt duck nobody, which is rare for a P4P king

              Nice Recovery

This is the fight that many, including myself, wanted to see for awhile. But PAcman is crazy if he thinks this is a PPV fight. I imagine Valero is willing to fight in the phillipines with only a camera phone available, so i think he will agree to any unfair split Manny may offer. Also considering Manny is losing about 15 million in fighting Valero over Hatton, which is as tough a fight as Hatton, i think one can assume money was not as big a factor as pride. I can accept that and might even respect it. Valero is probably already faxing is signature on a blank piece of paper trying to get this fight and exposure that follows, so now we just got to grease them boys in Las Vegas to get medical clearance for Edwin. I actually like this Fight over "Holding" Hatton and think this may be one for the ages that is talked about for years to come. I invision Hameed v Kelley with less theatrics but more fireworks and expect both men to taste the canvas in a action packed fight that would make Chuck Norris jealous. Kudos to Pacman if he goes thru with this fight but please dont make me pay 50 bucks for it

                he sucks.

manny would school him worse than david diaz.

all he has is a strong punch. not much else.

He's a southpaw who if he connects on Pac early, all bets are off.

It's weird though because he was an excellent gym fighter early, then fell in love with his power (can't say I blame him for how many straight 1st round ko's) then got sloppy.

Two southpaws with huge power is the intriguing part here, but Valero has to get Pac early, because if he doesn't Pac dominates late.

Let's get it on. I been waiting for this fight forever

Hatton is too boring for me anyways. I want a wild ass slugger going for broke.

For me, talk of any opponent for Pacquiao other than Hatton, Mayweather or Marquez triggers memories of Louis' "Bum of the Month Club" between December 1940 to 41 as well as Ali and Robinson's European roadshow. (Turpin however spoiled Robinson's tour, or, Sugar let Turpin steal his show).

However, I am also reminded that Angelo Dundee once said, "I resent that. If a kid's a fighter, he can't be a bum. You've gotta be special if you're a fighter....There's no Bum of the Month Club."
