Pacquiao-Valero on Deck if Ricky Hatton Walks Away

If the proposed May 2 showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton falls apart, undefeated puncher Edwin Valero is said to be on deck as the replacement opponent for Manny. Hatton's camp is tired of Pacquiao's continued demands for a higher percentage of the split. While Hatton's camp wanted an even 50-50 split, they budged a little for a 52-48 agreement in favor of Pacquiao, but the Filipino champion wants at least 55-45.

A great matchup. And I look forward to watching it for free on Setanta sports.

Nice move Pac. Lose out on $20million for a mega fight with Hatton, so that u can make $3million fighting Valero. A guy that not 1 casual fan knows of.

I'd rather see a third fight with Marquez

I was really looking forward to Pac-Hatton but Valero would be a good fight, so Im not too disappointed.

Agreed, people underestimate Valero. While I don't think he'll win, the guy has power that must come from heaven or hell... it sure doesn't come from his small frame.. but he's got rocks in his gloves!

If he fights valero for 3 million, i'd say he's ducking Hatton!

He should fight the winner of JMM-Diaz.

Valero isn't that good, isn't that highly rated, and isn't well known.

Bad move for Manny.. let him learn his lesson. It's too bad he keeps on ignoring Roach's phone calls, he won't make earn bigger payday in his future fights than the Hatton fight.
