hmm.. well the thing is Boxing is not Basketball. Boxing is already a great sport before DLH's time. I just did not like what happened to boxing at the time, where popularity pays more than skills. Say for example when DLH should face a champion... perhaps an undefeated, undisputed, entertaining fighter, and if I have not over exaggerated it enough make that fighter the #1 P4P. The challenger DLH gets 30-50million while the champ gets 10-20million...how can this be? And this is a factor why boxing struggles.Oscar still has something left... He just overtrained himself and took a fight that only fans can dream about. We cheered him as a champion and know we boo him? Oscar has been the michael jordan of boxing... Think about it? What would basketball be without jordan? Not the same right? Same with oscar? Which other star fought the contenders that fans wanted him to see, he fought the vargas's, the trinidad's, the chavez's, the whitiker's. The mayweather's, the gatti's, the camacho's, the mosely's everyone in their prime that we wanted him to fight... He never backed down. Now how can we judge him off this loss... We can't, if he fights i will cheer for him and if he walks away i will cheer for him as well. Fighters now a days wished they had the heart that oscar has and most of all the fans that oscar has... I say one more fight! Let it all out! Like paulie told rocky,"let go of that beast once and for all" one more oscar i'm with you and i'm sure other boxing fans will follow,,,,
But personally, as a DLH fan back when I was just a kid. I give him much credit and honor and gratitude for entertaining us boxing fans.
Retire or Fight?... it does not really matter. After all I'm a boxing fan...not a boxer's fan.Comment
