06 Wright would have neutralized him fairly completely.
Winky – Margarito 2006, Why didn’t this fight happen.

His largest purse to date is $1.6 million against Cotto so it's safe to say Winky would have been his biggest payday by far at that time. He fought 2 fights in 2006, Manuel Gomez and Joshua Clottey, I'm not sure when discussions were going on.
Edit: It was in July 2006, so it was before the Clottey fight. http://www.***********.com/3567-boxi...margarito.html

and who the *** is bpp? He has constantly tried to post **** here bashing margarito he did the same thing with goosen and posters think because he's a ***en internet board mod that he knows what goes on in negotiations. Winky was offered margarito by arum and winky turned it down. It's as simple as that. at the time margarito was desperate and was willing to fight anyone! No one wanted to fight him. Shane turned down his madatory position to fight margarito around that time as well.
arum offered winky 4 million to fight margarito and winky turned it down! Then after winky said no thanks, arum moved foward and put margarito on the course to a fight with cotto who was also promoted by arum. After arum announced he was moving on Winky comes out and says they want to fight margarito when they already knew arum was moving forward and setting up a fight between clottey and margarito. Funny it's like the williams story in which williams declined an immediate re-match with margarito and then when margarito moves on and in this case got bigger here comes williams claiming margarito is ducking him lmao. It's only fitting the two hypocrites (williams and winky) fight each other. They're both full of ****.Comment

you're ****** watch the fight again. Margarito was the one walking santos down. And santos was the only guy hurt in that fight. DOn't speak on things you know nothing about. If you'd like i'd be happy to link you the fight so you can see it before you comment on it.Marg is no different from any other fighter who looks at money and the possibility of losing going into a fight. This guy can walk through anything because he is fighting at welterweight, we saw what happened when he felt power just 7 pounds up in Santos. That walk em down caveman style wont work against the big boys or against Paul Williams.Comment

Oh my lord. Man I have nothing against you. I just asked a few questions about Margarito since I didn't follow his career. I have nothing against MargaritoComment

I've never found BPP to be biased against Margarito and he's probably more 'in the know' than you are, no offense.and who the *** is bpp? Anyways, there's proof that Winky offered Margarito his biggest payday to date but Margarito turned it down so show me your proof and I'll believe you, although your story is believable because I do remember something like that happening, Winky was always stingy with his purses as well.Last edited by Silencers; 01-20-2009, 01:02 AM.Comment

This man speaks the truth. thats exactly as i remember it. This was after Mayweather turned down 8mil. Winky wanted the 8mil. Bob offered him 4mil, which to my knowledge would have been Winky's career high payday. Winky turned it down.and who the *** is bpp?
