margie, cotto are calling him out not for money.. but because of his current p4p status...

thats what they are looking from with manny p4p status.. not money.. because honeslty... he doesnt bring it.... yet...

at least ... the money hasnt been reflected on ppv numbers.
Manny brings in pretty good money, but like every other fighter besides DLH, he needs someone good to fight against and maximize it.

I am sure Cotto and Margs would jump at the chance to fight Manny, but Arum won't let them even go near him. I am sure they want both, the money and the exposure fighting Pac gives.

A lot of this sport at the high levels is basically only about money.

My question is: Why does it have to be a BIGGER fight than Hatton? He'll still end up getting a ton of moolah even if Ricky ends up raking in Pounds with a bulldozer back in Manchester fighting whomever.

On one hand u say that Pac deserves a bigger slice of the pie. In the other, u say why does it have to be a bigger fight than Hatton if this fight doesnt get made. Obviously you are concerned with how much Pac is going to make. So if he's not gonna make more money fighting anyone else right now, why not go 50/50 with Hatton. It'll be his biggest purse yet, considering he will be getting a percentage of USA and UK ppv revenue.

I think he's entered the 8-figure Millionaires' Club with that last performance and you can't start charging 8-figure checks your PPV drawing power can't cash, and though I concede that this still has to be tested in his next fight, I believe those guys know he brings STATUS as well as the CASH to the table. It's gonna be a big payday for the next guy that gets Pacquiao to sign on the dotted line not to mention the LEGACY that goes with the signature.

If kahn beats barrera, then hatton and kahn will be a massive fight in the UK, in front of a 100 thousand fans, ppv will be massive, hatton has this huge fight, and a rematch with floyd, he can easily walk away from this fight

              Hey bro, what up?
Manny made some loot. I know he got guaranteed 3 million against diaz, Around 6 mil for Marquez, and 15 to 30 million on DLH.

Caballero is gonna fight a mandatory. He can't line up the big guns. I think he's high risk low reward for those 122 guys. He has two of the 4 belts, you'd think they'd want to try him out. He was talking about chasing people up to featherweight if he didn't get the big guns.

I think the most logical way to kill the drama between Pacquiao and Hatton is to settle it the old school way. Stipulate a 10% marginal split (55/45), with the winner taking the lion's share of the split. I think all of these mega-fights should be governed this way because it would eliminate the Oscar De la Hoya's of the world who continue to take mega fights because they know win, lose, or draw, they'll command the biggest purse. I think if two fighters know up front that the winner would walk away with the bigger slice of the pie, they'd come in a tad bit hungrier, (no pun intended). This fight is a bit misleading because Pacquiao is perhaps the bigger global star, but Hatton represents a market that will bring in a huge 'paper trail' and it's a demographic that he totally controls. So considering that both men bring something to the table that the other can't, I think letting the winner take the larger split is easily the best way to draw a bona fide conclusion. Both men have great pride and both men view themselves as 'the man', so if you're that sure of your game, why not let it speak for you! Right?

                i agree with you 100%

i've been singing the same song for years, true prize fighting is exactly what boxing needs....a few other changes would help too but this is a biggie.

Well obviously, I'm not as concerned with how much he's gonna make compared to what percentage of the pie he really DESERVES to get. Big difference... and I think he justly deserves a bigger take no matter the size of the pot.

Pac against anyone good is gonna be a payday. No one makes a ton against the Malignaggi's and Diaz'es of the world.

I can't think of many people in history who did. Maybe Tyson and DLH.

But a good star against Pac, any of them really, makes some bank now.
