Should the Ref. Have Called a KD against Berto in Rd. 1?!?

Berto went flying across the ring and only the ropes held him up. Frequently throughout the night, Bob Papa referred to a "knockdown" in rd 1, but it was never called a knockdown in the first place. A 10-8 round would have made the outcome a majority draw. What are your thoughts.

Should it have been called a knockdown?!?

I wouldnt have but if he did i wouldnt argue since he was in a way saved by the ropes.

Why did Bob Papa keep saying Berto went down?

Nah,I wouldn't think so,there have been numerous cases this happened and wasn't called plus it was as much balance as he was hurt.Worked for Rocky enough in the Mason Dixon fight.

hopefully he can land a good money fight and come out on top. he proved he's one of the best.

and seeing joe and george... yea that was awesome. they also referred to joe when the commentators were talking about how collazo stepped up his training and hired a conditioning coach (thats joe), and george's mug was all over my screen, lol. he was the one screaming "AND NEW" before they announced the winner. That was awesome.

I wouldn't say it's not even close. Whether he was hurt or not is completely irrelevant... see Collazo flash knockdown against Hatton.

after watching it again I think the ref made the correct call. Berto was knocked backward and falling but he regained his balance just before falling into the ropes and remained upright almost solely under his own strength.
