Why was this thread made? Is Calzaghe trying to get a fight and convince people SRR is in his prime?

The loss to LaMotta was actually a rematch. They fought six times, four times after Robinson lost to Jake.

Joey Maxim was tough to beat yet Robinson managed to outbox him for 13 rounds. There was quite a size difference, Robinson started his career as a lightweight while Maxim ended up fighting as a heavyweight.

I don't think I've ever seen anything compared to what happened to Robinson in the later rounds of the fight, I definitely think he would've beaten Maxim if not for the heat.

      Joey Maxim against Floyd Patterson.

              emphasis on the little

robinson would outbox and then beat calzaghes brains in whenever he chose

if an old jones can put joe on the deck...damn man sugar might have killed him

Robinson was great. But people make out like he was GOD.

In boxing, when two great fighters get in the ring, anything can happen.

Never bet against circus folk. Or Carnies!

Did SRR beat anyone as fast and weird as Joe?

Proabaly at least once in almost 200 fights. Chances are he beat them silly.
But they werent no Slappy Kid Joe.

                      Go Joe.
                      I believe in you.
You can out smart the Sugar Gay Robinson. He had a piss poor defence. And he was never really a great MW.
                      Maxim was ****.
                      Everyone knows it.
Im now going to eat breakfast and watch a bit of ****.
