Kobe is more well known worldwide than Lebron, although the only basketball player to be a true global icon is the Greatest, Air Jordan

I've never heard of Lebron James. Is he an MMA fighter?

The biggest global superstar is Fedor Emilianenko. Wlad is up near the top too.

He just won a Gold Medal at the Olympics which was held in CHINA with loads of kids wearing Lebron jerseys. The NBA is shown worldwide, especially in countries that have Pro teams outside the states (i.e. Italy, Spain, Brazil, etc)

20 years ago you could ask a person on the street who the Heavyweight champ of the World is. Today you'll get this:

I find that very hard to believe. We are talking about basketball not baseball or American Football.

Basketball is an international sport. It's a pretty big sport outside the US. It's a popular sport in many european countries and also in latin american countries and it's getting more and more popular in Asia. Basketball is of course not on the same level as soccer/football but superstars like Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are well known names outside the US. Worldwide Lebron James is a much bigger name than Wlad Klitsckho.

i wouldnt call basketball a fully global sport, a lot of kids play it here but none really follow the NBA

in the ukraine and most of europe of course wlad would be more well known

but in pretty much everywhere else, it would be lebron

and in america its no contest

                so yeah worldwide lebron

                wlad has zero personality

although yeah i guess bball is pretty big outside of america now that you think of it

i know michael jordan played for the bulls, i know james plays for the cavailers?, i know paul pierce plays for the celtics and i know kobe plays for the lakers

oh and shaq plays for the miami heat

like i mean the game itself is pretty big, but knowledge of the players and that isnt big
