In Pro Sports, Money = Respect. Pro Sports is a Business. Pacquiao is doing the "Right thing" for himself now while his on Top coz if he listens to the "arm chair" experts on the internet, those people will not help him if he is "old and poor." Besides, he earn it the "very hard way" whatever accolades and benefits his getting now. No disrespect to Ricky Hatton, but his not known outside Britain so i don't think he and Pacquiao are on equal footing. With regards to U.K. PPV, it's just pure speculation that Hatton can generate that kind of buys(1.5m) wihout a good opponent in the opposite corner.

That's what Arum said!!!
What Team Pacquiao said is that Manny himself is not present when Arum proposed the 50/50 split. The team have to relay the information to Manny. And even before consulting, promoters are already hammering the 50/50 split.
Now, who's talking **** between the two. We may never know.

On US time.
900k+ stayed up until 4am to watch him fight Malinaggi, think about that and then ask how many would have paid to watch pacman Vs Malinaggi at peak US time? 300k? MAX.

(sigh) another one enters the convo talking crazy. No one can generate that kind of buzz w/out a good oponent if their name isn't mike tyson... Hatton did around a mill fighting Paulie. All his numberss are legit & beat Pacquiao's hands down. being p4p #1 doesn't make u king ding-a-ling. Again. How long ago was oscar a top 5 fighter. How long has he been the number one bread winner....

If Pacman agrees to a 50/50 split, he ends up getting less than Hatton because GBP and Toprank has shares in his purse, Hatton only has GBP to contend with. The extra 10% basically evens things out, and GBP (specially after what Pacman did to DLH) doesn't want Pacman getting rich at their expense.

That's right. Nobody.
Stop acting like Hatton doesn't need or want this fight.
As for needing, I don't think he needs it. But I agree he wants it badly, but not badly enough to let Pac mess him around.

That implies to me that Pac agreed to it.
Also if Arum was negotiating without Pac's full authorisation to make a decision, and then made an agreement on Pac's behalf without Pac's knowledge, then Arum would be a very bad promoter. Either Arum screwed up or Pac did. Either way Hatton's camp were left with the impression that a contract had been agreed to, so you can't blame them for not budging.
Now, at least you see, that's the problem with negotiation the parties are not sitting down altogether. They pre-negotiate to see what's being laid on the table then haggle the issues remotely. That's how they do it ages ago. Nothing new about it. Just remember the negotiation between PAC-DLH dreammatch.
