If you think the Casamayor who put an assbeating on Acelino Freitas (what a bull**** decision that was) would look that bad against either Santa Cruz or Katsidis, you are out of your mind.

He might not have been shot, but he was way, way past it.

EDIT: There is a reason that a SFW moving up to lightweight, who was coming off of a loss was a big favorite against Casamayor.

beat me to it D....casa was gifted for the Sta Cruz debacle...fought for dear life against kats and was the underdog in the bout with JMM

and here is dinamita....with a sig of the fight...complaining about overrating fighters who beat old men

      Hmm...

My old tag team partner doesn't post much here anymore (Skillspaythebills), so you might be in the running for the vacant spot...

This is sad, even for you.

Ok. Here's where we part company. This is not a good analogy.

Casa was not shot. Past his best? Maybe. But not by much. He looked pretty good to me. Certainly not less able or skilled than he looked against Freitas or Campbell a few years back. But I won't argue about prime blahblahblabedyblah... I'll give you that one. But shot? Cmon'...hyperbole damages your credibility.

Also, Casa was JMM's first test comin' up a weight class and there was no more than a 2 year age difference between them.

So you two haven't figured out that age is a number have you?

If your argument that Fernando Vargas is more near his prime because he is about 10 years younger than Bernard Hopkins?

                  That's obviously a tad silly, isn't it?

Do you two honestly not think the zillions of amateur bouts that Casamayor had cut his career a little shorter than someone with much less amateur experience?

I have been wondering how the **** Pacquiao and De La Hoya found their way into this thread.

whoa whoa left...if you're answer to casa being past his best is 'maybe' then we would need to part ways...i never claimed shot....my argument was for dinamita who had his OWN agenda the moment i came into the thread...check the posts....you shouldnt be complaining about beating 'past their best' fighters and have casa and JMM in your sig...but hey, that's just my opinion...

its like saying 'i hate fighters that clinch' then have a f'n john ruiz sig

Castillo was ranked #10 on the Ring's p4p list at the time.

But to discredit Hatton, Max Kellerman was quick to say after the punch "Castillo is a shot fighter"....
