Be fair - calzaghe was also dirty in the fight, he low blowed on several occasions (he even went on record and admitted in the 2nd round he low blowed as to get back at hopkins for knocking him down) and also rabbit punched (see the below example).

Bottom line is it was a dirty ugly fight and both parties were guilty (hopkins guilty of most of the clinching, calzaghe did the above mentioned fouls and face it, neither of them put on crowd pleasing show).

It could have been age and/or his thyroid condition in which they had a hard time controlling before the calzaghe fight, which makes sense because fatigue is the main symptom and that is the first and only time out of all of bernard's fights that he's ever tired like that.

Yep, credit must be given to joe even if you don't like him (me being one of those people). He's a great and it's his career so if he doesn't want to rematch hopkins, that's his decision and only his to make. They will be forever linked because of this fight and like it or not, they are similar in many ways because of their accomplishments (both have records for longest title defenses, longest reign, etc.). The main difference of course is bhop faced the bigger names overall but regardless, they will both go down as ATG.

hopkins is not just about the money, he fights for his legacy. beating dawson or kessler wont do anything to improve his standing as one of the greatest to ever do it, dawson in a few years will probably be the best of the light heavyweight div, but hopkins would be long gone when that time comes. the only fight that will enhance his status is a win vs calzaghe in a rematch, to me joe is not a hall of famer, but the way the media is kissing his ass and calling him one of the best ever, that will only make bhop look better if he beats him.

people are still talking about the first fight til this day, some say bhop won or loss, thats the perfect reason for the rematch, to clear things up, if he feels he beat hopkins, do it again, thats what being a boxer is all about.

As 4 the reply i didnt no about the thyoid condition, im a sufferer the same, over active, but if he nows a fights coming up, its easily controlled, but sides effects, tiredness.
I dnt think noone can put on a good show with hopkins the pavlick fight really suprised me, but pavlick is so 1 dimensional.

As 4 Joe now, The only way hell fight again is top money, Hopkins again in wales never happen i dnt think. Theres no one left 4 him, as 4 b-hop i think himm and roy will do a money spinner.

Calzaghe? If Hopkins really made this fight happen, i think that he'd win this time around.

I think he should leave Calzaghe alone. It don't look like Joe really wants to box anymore. But who knows, maybe he'll continue to compete.

I wouldn't mind competing professionally.
