I say, lets see Hopkins vs Dawson. If Hopkins win,it adds to his legacy. If he loses, it still will be a competitive fight and people will have the utmost respect for him for taking on a young lion when know one else is stepping up.A win for Dawson would launch his career the way Terry Norris's win over Sugar Ray Leonard launched his.It would be good for the sport.

        The last king!

Bernard hopkins has had a great carrer and has nothing to prove to anyone. He has held his own with the best in the sport for the last 20 years(maybe more). I think if he retires now it would be the best time but what do you say to a guy who fights the best fighters in the world and ducks no one (except retirement). If Joe doesn't want a rematch, who cares? B-hop has done enough for the sport, not to have to look for fights. Its not like Joe knocked him out( our even came close) our even did enough to win the fight. Real boxing fans know B-hop is the last of the real raw boxers and anything he does from here own out is extra icing on the cake.
Oh and the last thing I want to say is, the only guy with something left to prove is joe calzage. If he is retired and if this is were he calls it quits. so long joe you will not be missed, slap punching, pitty patting and fighting guys past there prime won't get you on anybodys all time greatest list( except maybe the all time overated list).

You can find a three part break down of Hops' future at http://theboxingbulletin.blogspot.com/

I'd like to see him fight Adamek and add a third legit crown to his resume.

It was $3 million. Hopkins asked for it to be doubled to $6 million. And as far as I know, it was 2002.

Regardless, Hopkins has been great for the sport.

                Hopkins - RJJ 2.

Both should retire afterwards regardless of result

Bernard could challenge Valuev to add winning the heavyweight belt to his legacy. That would be one hell of a way to retire at 44. The real fight to ride off into the sunset with is a revenge win over calzaghe. that would also be like avenging the jones loss as well since calzaghe just humiliated jones. Those seem like the only real options tho and the only fights that would motivate Bhop at this point

Their we go, now were talking. Since both are looking for a final farewell fight why not with each other. Im sure people would be interested in that one since both fighters are at the bottom of their careers.

FFS Hopkins would knock Jones out at this point...wtf is the point. You have got to admire Hops he will only fight somone he sees as a challenge no bums or washed up old men for Hopkins.
