Another lie from Tunney. Don King beat a man to death and served time. The shooting is a total fabrication.

From what I've read it's true unless it has been proven otherwise.

A new, updated edition of Jack Newfield's hard-hitting unauthorized biography of boxing kingpin Don King, source of the Emmy-winning film starring Ving Rhames. With a new epilogue. Working his way out of a life of street crime and numbers running - and jail time for manslaughter - King rose to become a powerhouse in the fight game, outnegotiated corporate giants, fleeced the treasuries of entire countries, and amassed a vast personal fortune while ruining the lives and careers of some of boxing's greatest champions. The dying words of the man King stomped to death on the streets of Cleveland in 1966 - Don, I'll pay you the money! - became the motif for Don King's ascendancy.

Would be quicker if we named the boxers that haven't been in jail.

The fact is, an approximately equal percentage of white boxers have been in jail as black boxers.

              Hilton, Spadafora, Harrison, Morrison, etc.

Race has nothing to do with it - but there does seem an unusually high percentage of boxers have been in jail, as compared people in other sports.

When reading Larry Holmes's book he also confirmed King has Murdered some one and done the sentence.

Also little story regrading King, after the Hagler/Lenoard i think it was that fight, Don King was trying to get in the ring etc, and the fight had nothing to do with him and Bob Arum didn't like this etc and got him out of the ring and a ''Gun'' is belived to of fell out of his pocket according to Holmes.

You learn alot more about Don when you read Holmes's book. Great Read by the way!
