What pains me most, and other boxing fans as well, is to hear friends talk about going to watch an MMA fight. I never hear my friends say, "you watching boxing tonight". MMA/UFC is hated by a lot of boxing fans for stealing the spotlight from the greatest sport on earth. I'm fine with MMA as a sport, is the public hype for MMA and disregard for boxing that angers me.
Fine post. I have to say though, boxing has to find a way to cater to the younger fanbase. Take a 16-23yr old. What do u think he's more interested in watching. A technical boxing match, or a all out brawl where one fighter is most likely going to end up KO'd on the ground? Boxing needs to make boxing more exciting! Good exciting fights in boxing are too few and too far apart. U might get a good matchup this month, then have to wait 4 months for another one. Its frustrating.

I posted a thread regarding its record breaking year, and how it may effect boxing (for the better), and all i got is a bunch of whiney men complaining and giving me red k. If i were postly solely about UFC, then i would expect the usual "take it to the mma forum" posts, but my thread was intended to draw opinions on the current state, and future of boxing, given UFC's achievements of last year.

I dont like golf, but im not gonna go out of my way to bash it if i dont like it. If i can give two ****s about it, why waste my time bashing it? Some u men here need to stop acting like little twats, and man up. The only explanation for that type of behavior is insecurity. Im a boxing fan before im an mma/ufc fan, but truth be told, boxing has been taking a big dump on its fans over the past few years. Its getting quite hard to defend a sport that doesnt look after the fans who've made it what it is. Hopefully our sport will show more appreciation for us fans in this upcoming year.
People keep posting about it on BOXING boards. Probably is my guess.

I like watching the skilled, exciting fighters like St. Pierre..

i used to watch mma but i suddenly found it to be uncompetetive. too much can go wrong. i don't see it much of a sport to be honest. now i ain't gonna go through that boxing>mma talk again. this is just my personal opinion

i think its the other way around, i never hear anyone from the sport go out of their way to bash mma like dana white does.

I dont go to MMA sites so i wouldnt know, but i see a lot of MMA fans on here talking smack.

Ive watched MMA and i think its exciting when their trading blows, but in reality their just boxing. Once they go to the floor and start dry humping for 10 minutes thats when it kills me.

IMO it just doesn’t have the class or grace that boxing has, and never will.

              It does nothing for me.

Put simply, if Boxing was a Ferrari GT 250 then mma will always be a Ford Escort Cosworth.

              Therein lies the truth.

MMA is the methadone to my heroin when boxing is not on. I like it but it ain't boxing. The only problem I have with it is how difficult it is to establish who is "the best". In boxing, because of the training and the in-ring rules, an A level fighter will beat a B level fighter 4 out of 5 times. In MMA, it's truely anybody's game. The "lucky punch" does happen in boxing, but not as often as it does in MMA. The fact that Broch Lesnar is a UFC champion is just a joke. You can train harder, have more experience, and be the all-around better man.... give up your back for a split second, and suddenly a man who has half your skill now has your title.

i personally dislike mma, but i ain't telling anybody not to watch or appreciate it. if you like two dudes feeling each other out im not gonna judge.
                      You are right in everything.
Dana White comes from boxing and now wants to destroy boxing.
Biggest payday in MMA history is 500 000.In boxing 40 million, and then morons says MMA is new sport.I think MMA is dying slow death.Look at Chute Boxe(they lost Anderson Silva,Wandarlei Silva,Rua brothers almost all team).
Look at team Miletich(they lost Hughes,Sylvia,Lawler and everyone else).
Only team is worth mentioning is ATT and Greg Jackson s team but ATT s owner is millioner and thats why team still exist.
MMA fans should accept that they will never make money as boxers and thats a fact.WWF fighter who is on steroid 24/7 Brock Lesnar is best MMA fighter today.MMA SUCKS!
I forgot BTT doesnt have Sperry,Nogueira brothers and PRIDE died too and thats why MMA SUCKS!
