Ricky Hatton's Lawyer Threatens To Sue Manny Pacquiao

According to Ricky Hatton's legal counsel, Gareth Williams, they have a binding verbal contract to fight Manny Pacquiao on May 2 with an agreed upon 50-50 split. Two days ago, Pacquiao's lawyer, Franklin Gacal, told reporters that Manny will not accept an equal split of the money. He said Pacquiao is looking for a 60-40 split. Hatton refuses to fight Pacquiao for anything less than a 50-50 split. [details]

if he wants to sue, he should sue bob arum. Even if arum has full rights to negotiate in behalf of Pacquiao, it is not a done deal if Pacquiao doesnt agree to it. If Hatton's lawyer can show anywhere that Pacquiao has agreed, verbally or in writing, to such a deal, then he has basis. As far as I've read, Pacquiao has not agreed to the 50-50.

When you're the p4p #1 and an exciting fighter to boot getting the same pay as the other guy that's not wouldn't be fair.

Uhh not when the "lesser" fighter will put 75% of the total money to the table argubly. De la Hoya was the same.... is putting so much money to the table but wanted more money than pacquiao... at least hatton is being nice about it, but pacquaio is greedy.
